Some thoughts on Evolution.
"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" Romans 1:20 KJV
It's been a long time since I last posted something on here. To me, it seems like only a few weeks since my last post, but in reality it's been over 3 months. I reckon it's about time for another "Rant". While there's many things I could write about this morning, I think I'd like to touch on my experience as a believer in the theory of evolution.
Like everyone else on the planet, I was not born a Christian. Actually, until I was about 21 years old, I had very little use for religion or the Bible. I grew up -for the most part- as an atheist. I was a total believer in evolution. As a child, I was taught evolution from my father and it was reinforced in the public school system. To me, evolution was the absolute truth! It was the sole explanation for the existence of the Universe.
I believed we were all super evolved apes. When I looked at the world as an atheist, I only saw a wondrous product of chance. I would look at things and think of how many random changes and millions/billions of years it took for that thing to come into existence or change from one thing to another. The idea of some invisible God "magically" creating things was totally absurd and insulting to my intelligence! I wanted firm evidence. In my opinion, If something could not be measured with the scientific theory or the five senses: it did not exist!
All that changed about 8 years ago. God saved me, I began to read the Bible and study the Biblical truth about creation. Now I see the whole world in a different light. I now see God's hand and design throughout all His creation. Some people may now think I have gone off the deep end and am now using "religion" as a crutch for my weak, uneducated mind. That is quite fine by me, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
The truth is, evolutionary theory is a religious belief as well! It's actually a polytheistic religion. The three gods of evolution are known as "Time", "Chance", and "Nothing". Absurd you say? Am I really an idiot? Is it only the theists who are weak minded people? I don't think so. I actually think the evolutionists are people of faith as well. In fact, they must have more faith than most Christians because it sure takes a great measure of faith to believe that Nothing + Chance + Time = EVERYTHING!
