If Evangelical Calvinism is an Oxymoron...

Then could someone explain to me why I personally know Calvinists who believe in going out and knocking on doors to share the Gospel? Why are Calvinists training others to evangelize, going on missions trips, and planting churches? And why do so many of them have a fervent desire to see people saved? Why is it that the majority of the great evangelists of church history also believed and taught the Doctrines of Grace?

Lastly, why is it that I am seeing people --who I am almost 100% sure are Calvinists from reading their works and listening to their preaching-- on program at Arminian churches in order to teach them how to effectively reach the lost??
