Team Blog Announcement!
Today I want to announce a new team blog. My cohorts in this effort are Fred Pifer and Josh Hitchcock. Fred is my pastor and also the author of the Fired by Desire blog. Josh is the youth pastor at our church and is the author of the Theological Thoughts blog.
I began the blog originally as a private forum for interaction with my Reformed friends. However, as we talked amongst ourselves it was decided that we would try to run it as a public team blog instead.
The name of the blog is "The Reformed Mafia", the inspiration for the name comes from something I read in the introduction to J.I. Packer's book Concise Theology. In it J.I. Packer writes:
"I gratefully acknowledge the hidden hand of my much-admired friend R.C. Sproul, from whom came the idea for several of these outlines. Though our styles differ, we think very much alike, and have cooperated happily in a number of projects. I find that we are sometimes referred to as the Reformed Mafia, but hard words break no bones, and on we go."
I think what Packer has written above pretty much applies to Fred, Josh, and myself. Though I have only known them for about 6 months, I have found these guys to be great friends, great thinkers, solidly Reformed, and dedicated to the service of our thrice Holy God.
I count it as an honor and a privilege to have them be a part of this venture. That I know of, nobody around town has actually called us the Reformed Mafia, but I thought the name sounded cool and I decided to claim it as our own.
So with that in mind, I would like to invite you to visit us at The Reformed Mafia.
Soli Deo Gloria!
