The Natural Origin of Rape?
In the song Simple Man, country music legend Charlie Daniels starts off the chorus with these words:
"Well you know what's wrong with the world today, People done gone and put their Bibles away. There livin' by law of the jungle not the law of the land..."
I think Mr. Daniels got it right. That is exactly what has happened: The majority of people in our nation ignore the Bible and now a few are starting to look to nature to try and explain certain forms of moral depravity and sinful behaviour in human beings.
It was bound to happen though, seeing as this generation has swallowed the idea that we are all the result of an uncaused cosmic accident that resulted in multiplied trillions and trillions of other accidents. Many people have adopted the "from goo to you by way of the zoo" explanation for the origin of human life. The fact that the God of Scripture is the Creator of this Universe (and its Chief Lawgiver) is flatly denied by many of the intellectuals of our time.
Because ideas these have consequences, I guess it should be no surprise when scientists -many of whom hold to a godless worldview- come up with some most ungodly hypothesises. Just to illustrate my point, I submit to you that anthropologist Craig T. Palmer and biologist Randy Thornhill, in their book A Natural History of Rape, have determined that RAPE is a "genetically developed strategy sustained over generations of human life because it is a kind of sexual selection -a successful reproduction strategy."
That's right! They think rape is a natural act! They think it was a strategy that evolved in humans in order to secure the reproduction of the human species! From what I gather, part of the basis for their findings is the fact that animals can be observed raping other animals in nature! Therefore they believe that rape probably played a part in our supposed evolution.
From what I have read in Biblical Worldview Magazine, Thornhill and Palmer do contend that rape is morally wrong, but I do not see how they can seriously defend that postition. I agree with Gary DeMar when he writes " ... given Darwinian assumptions, there is no way to condemn rape on moral grounds. The same can be said of homosexual behavior and everything else. If we are truly the products of evolution there can be no moral judgments about anything."
Now that these clowns have determined rape is basically a natural human act, I wonder how long it will be before some rapist is using this as his defense in court? Moreover, since when does the behaviour patterns of animals determine what is natural for human beings? Because some animals cannibalize their young, should we also deduce that such behaviour is natural in humans as well? Perhaps as some sort of survival strategy? I think not...
You see my friends, this is the kind of junk people come up with when they put their Bibles away and -as Charlie Daniels sings- start "livin' by the law of the jungle and not the law of the land." The truth is, God designed the institution of marriage for reproduction of mankind! Rape has no part in the reproduction of humans. It should be obvious that rape is a horrible sin against women and a terrible violation of God's Holy Law. Any scientific hypothesis that says otherwise should be rejected with extreme prejudice.

Just because the baboons do it doesn't mean that we ought to
The evolutionists want law without a lawgiver, they want order without an orderer, professing themselves to be wise they become fools.
What gets me is that they can come up with stuff like this, as well as the idea that polygamy is natural (and therefore wonderful) and STILL feminists pick on Christianity (which advocates that rape be a capital offense and that monogamous marriage is the best standard.) How the evolutionists escape the whole "mysogyny" label, and we get it instead, is beyond me.
you haven't even touched the tip of the iceberg. With social evolution and the ideas that africa is the area of origin you allow people to condone racial hatred based on evolution (ie. the evolutionary idea that africans are lower on the evolutionary ladder). Then you have the survival of the fittest idea that the sick and weak should be done away with. See how in Holland and other north countries euthanasia has begun to take unwilling lives in the interest of "compassion". And there are groups who want the same "right" to die for the severely handicapped. Its a never ending downward spiral into bestial behavior. Remember the sins of Ancient Israel...and every one decided for themselves what was right and wrong!
