I must be a Libertarian
In the video below, please pay careful attention to what the Representative has to say about the so-called American Civil War. Not many people have a clue about what actually took place in the 1860's. Rep. Paul hits the nail on the head!!
Listen as Maher, who claims to be a Libertarian, cleary demonstrates his Socialist belief that the State is the Messiah of us all...
Yes, Bill, You truly are "Chairman Mao" in comparison to a true lover of freedom!
If Congressman Ron Paul is a "Libertarian," then sign me up today!
(I found this video on the Chalcedon blog.)

Surely all sane persons should agree with Mr. Paul that there should have been a better way to end slavery than the Civil War (an oxymoron if there ever was one, there was nothing civil about it). I mean, how many people died? How many more suffered terribly?
As for Global Warming, it seems to me (and to others) that it is being made an excuse for the government to assume even more control over our lives. For example, in this country (and in others) vegetable oil, a renewable resource that can be used to fuel cars, is an illegal fuel. Why? Is it because it isn't taxed the way petroleum is (and cannot be so taxed because it's sold as a cooking product)?
Amen, highlander!
BTW, some are also floating the falsehood that the vegetable/cooking oil thing is a myth. It is not a myth. They tested a car running on used cooking oil on the show "Mythbusters" and found that it's as efficient as the normal, petroleum stuff. (I think it has to be a diesel engine, though. Correct me if I'm wrong.)
BTW, Rhett, anyone who still operates under the delusion that Bill Maher is anything other than a very extreme leftist...probably really does need Big Brother to look after them.
Oh, we had a case a few years ago in this country (well, in Wales) when a lot of people found out that it works - and used it! The only drawback is that it's illegal and it makes your car smell like a chip shop.
We were all most annoyed to hear that this renewable (though granted just as carbon-producing) fuel that would make the UK and the US independent of a bunch of Muslim fanatics who wear tea-towels on their heads is illegal.
