Thinking Blogger Award!

I am honored to announce that the Highland Host of the Free St. George's blog has nominated me for the "Thinking Blogger Award!" I have to say that I'm really humbled by his gesture. I have a great deal of respect for the Highland Host and appreciate his kind words.

In his description of my blog, the Highland Host may have unwittingly given me a new description for my blog header: "A blog that takes a serious (and sometimes not so serious) look at modern evangelicalism and culture from a solid Southern Calvinistic worldview." Thanks Highland Host!

I am new to all of this blog award business, but I believe as part of this program, I am supposed to nominate/award it to up to five other bloggers whom I believe are deserving of the recognition. Now this is tough! There's many bloggers I believe deserve this award. A few of them are already members of my team blog: the Reformed Mafia. I would really like to give it to all of them, but it might be too much like nepotism or something.

Another blogger I was tempted to award it to is the only blogger to be banned from the Reformed Mafia's comment box (and I think he counts it as a victory too!)... This would be none other than the notorious "Exist-Dissolve." The biggest reason why I decided not to give him the award is because I disagree with about 95% of what he writes! ;-)

In spite of that, I still have to grant him an honorable mention here because he does have a great mind. I'm fairly certain that if I decided to be foolish enough to debate him, he'd use all sorts of big words and mile high philosophy against me, and thus make me look foolish whether I'm correct or not!

So with all of that out of the way, I wish to award the "Thinking Blogger" award to Thomas Slawson of the Tominthebox News Network!

I have picked Thomas because I appreciate the satire he produces. If you read it, you can tell it is well thought out. Though his work is satire, it usually speaks volumes about the particular subject that he's addressing. "Net Finney" is probably my favorite of all the posts on Tominthebox. If you need a good laugh, stop by Tominthebox today!
